Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project (KASP), provides a wide range of free confidential counselling and support services to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse age 16 or over throughout North East Fife.
We also support partners and families and act as a specialist resource for other health and social care professionals. As well as carrying out training we actively seek to raise awareness of the prevalence and effects of childhood sexual abuse. In addition to offering generic support KASP also employs specialist workers in the areas of domestic abuse, mental health and young people (age 16-25).
Although, we value enormously the successes that have been achieved to date, there are still problems in the way our society tolerates high rates of abuse and scandalously low conviction rates. KASP therefore, perceives a key role of the organisation as being our active contribution to policy changes which will improve the response to the needs of survivors within, for example, health and criminal justice services.
KASP is acutely aware of the need for confidentiality for survivors. We do not pass on information to any individual or agency without your prior consent. We keep minimal records and operate an Open Access Policy.
All counsellors at the project work within the Codes of Practice and Ethic of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
