Group Support

Many survivors find it helps to share their experiences with other survivors in a group setting. It can offer many advantages in the healing process, by breaking the feelings of isolation that abuse can leave you with. Various support groups and workshops are available according to demand.

Women’s Support Group

This group provides a safe, supportive and healing environment for exploring issues of child sexual abuse. Goals of the group vary and may include breaking isolation, developing healthy coping skills, reducing shame, increasing self-esteem, and building healthy boundaries. This is an open group, which means that woman can join and leave when they wish.

If you are interested and would like to find out more then, click here for a bit more information, or contact Lynn at KASP by phone or email info@kasp.org.uk

The group meets every alternate Thursday from 2pm until 4pm in the group room at our Kirkcaldy office, refreshments are also provided.

Swimming Group

Our swimming group meets fortnightly to swim at Levenmouth pool (ladies only night Mondays 8pm) whilst initially apprehensive the rewards of feeling more relaxed and invigorated, so come and join us. Go on give it a try! You might even enjoy it!!!

The Sailors Rest Women’s Group

We would like to let people know about a women’s group that takes place at the ‘Sailors Rest’ Centre in Methil. The group has enjoyed doing various activities, including, some pampering in our meditation and reiki group.

We have had people in for talks on how to help us build confidence and how to feel better about ourselves; we have even tried a spot of belly dancing, which was a lot of fun.

However, we don’t always stay in the centre, sometimes we have trips out. We have visited an art gallery, the museum at Kirkcaldy and the Edinburgh Dungeons for a ghost tour. Sometimes all we do is stay at the centre and have a coffee or tea where we have a blether and just relax.

The ‘Sailors Rest’ women’s group is held in a relaxing environment where you can get away from it all for a wee while and have a talk. You can bring a friend if you don’t want to come alone.

If you would like to find out more you can call KASP on 01592 644217 and ask to speak to Lorraine or why don’t you just drop in to the ‘Sailors Rest’ on any Thursday at 1:30pm to 3:00 and find out for yourself, some quotes from some of our members.

Meditation & Relaxation Group

This group will offer the opportunity to practice meditation techniques/relaxation. This group is not running at the moment.
